NIKOL METAXA ROZENFELD, LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR

Let’s be real—sometimes it’s hard to make sense of what’s really going on with your eating habits, body image, or relationships. Maybe you’ve noticed certain patterns or feelings, but you’re not quite sure where they’re coming from—or what to do about them. That’s where I come in. I specialize in helping people get curious about these parts of their lives, connect the dots, and build a deeper understanding of themselves, especially when it comes to food, body image, and relationships.

In my approach, I use a mix of ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), and humanistic therapy, but let me break that down: we’ll explore what’s happening under the surface—your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—and how they all fit together. My style is warm and compassionate, but also very direct. I also think it’s important to zoom out and consider the bigger picture, like how society’s messages about bodies, food, and relationships might be influencing you. Together, we’ll focus on building self-awareness and finding practical steps forward—no toxic positivity here.

NIKOL’S APPROACH:

Does this sound like you?

  • You’re not sure why you have the relationship you do with food, but you know it’s not working.

  • You understand body acceptance in theory but living it feels impossible.

  • Your relationships with others feel like they’re on repeat, and you’re not sure how to break the cycle.

  • You feel stuck in how you see yourself—maybe you’re overly critical, struggle with self-acceptance, or feel disconnected from your own needs and emotions.

  • You know something’s off, but turning to face it feels overwhelming.

If any of this resonates, you’re in the right place! Therapy is a space where we can explore these pieces together, make sense of them, find ways forward that feel authentic to you.
