ANJNA ARUN, MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR - LIMITED PERMIT
Outside you’re successful, confident, and high-achieving, but inside you’re overwhelmed, burned out, and overthinking everything. You’re tired of living this double life where you wear a mask to others, projecting a capable, outgoing persona, while inside you’re concealing deep feelings of inadequacy and exhaustion. Your Christian faith means that you’re always supposed to be there to support others, but aren’t sure how to ask for it yourself when you need it. You’re ready to change your life but you don’t know where to begin.
Working with me means having a supportive, compassionate partner who truly listens to you. Our sessions will be a blend of deep self-exploration and practical steps for change. Together, we’ll explore the roots of your challenges, looking at patterns formed from past experiences that may be fueling the self-doubt, anxiety, or overwhelm you’re facing today. My approach is both compassionate and outcome focused. I'll gently challenge you at times, encouraging you to go deeper and look at things from new perspectives, but always within a safe, non-judgmental space. Sessions with me are collaborative, and my goal is for you to leave each session feeling empowered, resilient, and with a deeper understanding of yourself.
I specialize in working with high-achieving, anxious individuals who feel stuck, disconnected, or exhausted by living up to external expectations. I understand both the strength and vulnerability that come with multiple responsibilities, family expectations, and your own high standards. I’m here to help you reconnect with yourself, strengthen your resilience, and ultimately find peace and balance through a faith-based perspective.

ANJNA’S APPROACH:
My primary treatment modalities are psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Gestalt, and I utilize techniques from different modalities to create a treatment plan that is individualized to your needs. Here are some ways we will utilize these techniques in our sessions:
Psychodynamic Therapy: We’ll explore how past experiences shape your current thoughts and behaviors, leading to deeper understanding and personal growth. This will allow us to uncover and understand the deeper roots of your current challenges.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Together, we’ll identify and reshape negative thought patterns, developing practical coping strategies to foster a more positive mindset. This will help us understand and reshape the negative thought patterns that impact your daily life and empower you to break free from old habits and embrace a more positive, resilient mindset.
Gestalt Techniques: By focusing on the "here and now," you’ll connect with your present emotions, explore how emotions manifest in your body and work through them together gaining insights that empower meaningful change. By identifying and expressing these feelings, you'll gain insight into your current struggles and learn to address them directly.
