JOHANNA BELLORIN, LICENSED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER
Have you been questioning your identity, your path, or the relationships around you? Maybe you keep finding yourself in the same toxic dynamics or patterns that leave you feeling stuck and disconnected. You could be newly married and adjusting to the realities of partnership, or going through a major life transition that’s left you unsure of your next steps. Perhaps you’ve recently moved to a new country and are struggling to find your place or to understand who you are in this unfamiliar environment.
I specialize in working with young adults who are going through big life transitions whether it’s immigrating, grief, cultural stress, relationship challenges, adjusting to life after college, healing from a breakup, or navigating your first serious relationship. I help you explore what’s working in your life and what areas might need more attention or growth. My goal is to support you in developing the emotional tools you need to grow and reach the goals that matter most to you.
As a bilingual Latina therapist and proud immigrant from Venezuela, I deeply understand the cultural, emotional, and systemic challenges that come with starting over in a new country. My family and I faced financial hardships and barriers to care, which fuels my passion for creating healing spaces for immigrants, BIPOC communities, and anyone facing major life transitions.
I’m a therapist who works with both individuals and couples. Therapy with me is down to earth and real. I bring humor, a bit of sarcasm when it fits, and a straightforward approach to help keep you grounded and accountable. While I’m warm and supportive, real growth happens when we’re honest with ourselves and each other.
I offer therapy in both Spanish and English and am committed to creating a space where you feel seen, respected, and valued. Whether you're most comfortable speaking Spanish, English, or a mix of both, you are fully welcome here.
My approach to therapy is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in research-based practices. One of the main tools I use is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which helps you understand how your thoughts influence your emotions and actions. For example, if you often think “I’m not good enough,” we’ll work together to notice when that thought shows up and find a way to reframe it into something more balanced and supportive. I also use grounding techniques like breathing exercises and mindfulness to help manage overwhelming emotions, and we may explore how your past experiences are showing up in your present life.
I also have a special interest in how our relationships whether romantic, familial, or platonic shape our sense of self. Together, we’ll explore how your connections impact your emotional well-being and build a path forward that feels meaningful and sustainable.
Outside the therapy room, I love reading a good book, going for runs, and spending time with my puppy and two cats. Being with my family and staying connected to the people who matter most is what keeps me grounded.
